4th Avenue Theatre District

Birmingham, Alabama has revolutionized the entertainment industry of the Southeast from the live musicians and performances to the first theaters allowing all races inside. In the early 18th-Century, the 4th Avenue area of downtown Birmingham was home to The Lyric, The Carver, and The Alabama Theatre. With the recent renovations, 4th Avenue is now ready to return to the glory of its past. This campaign's intentions were to bring attention to the historical significance of these theaters and tie the three together as an entertainment area once again. The 4th Avenue Theatre Campaign was entered into the 2015 Birmingham Addy Awards receiving the highest honor, a Gold Addy.

4th Avenue Theatre District logo
Abstract symbols of spotlights and stars with bold and complimentary colors gives the logo a way to showcase the 4th Avenue area in downtown Birmingham. The wordmark surrounds the logo, framing its planned placement.
The logo symbolizes the entertainment district in a more abstract way that can be mirrored with the colored spotlights of the stage. The three spotlights reference the three theaters it is compromised of. By utilizing abstracted spotlights and stars, the logo announces its presence back onto the entertainment grid. Represented here are also advertisements, signage, and merchandise for promotional and other uses.
